Care Plans cover the ongoing work that keeps your site healthy and performing — WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates, security monitoring, regular backups, uptime monitoring, and priority access to Alkaline Media for fixes and small changes. It’s everything that happens behind the scenes so your site stays fast, secure, and reliable without you having to think about it.
Do I need a Care Plan if my site doesn't change often?
Yes — and that’s actually when it matters most. A site that isn’t actively maintained is more vulnerable to security issues, plugin conflicts, and performance degradation over time. Most WordPress vulnerabilities come from outdated plugins and themes, not from active development. A Care Plan keeps your site protected even when nothing is visibly changing.
Do I have to be an Alkaline Media web design client to get a Care Plan?
No. If you have an existing WordPress site built by someone else, we can potentially onboard it onto a Care Plan. We’ll do a quick site audit first to make sure everything is healthy and compatible.
What if I need more than my plan includes?
Additional development time is billed at our standard hourly rate. We’ll always get your approval before doing any work beyond your plan’s included hours.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes, at any time. Changes take effect on your next billing cycle.
Do you work with sites not built on WordPress?
Our Care Plans are designed specifically for WordPress sites. If you’re on a different platform, reach out and we’ll let you know what options are available.

Yes. Every plan includes daily automated backups stored offsite. We can restore your site to any previous backup point quickly in the event of an emergency.
What happens to my site if I stop working with Alkaline Media?
Our sites are built using software licenses that would need to transfer with your site. We’re upfront about this before any work begins so there are no surprises. If you ever decide to move on, we’ll walk you through your options and make sure you have a clear path forward.
